What matters, in order
Lyophilised powder
A lyophilised peptide is relatively stable. Store it frozen and keep it dry. The powder tolerates long storage better than a solution does.
Reconstituted solution
Once you add water, the clock starts. Store the solution in a refrigerator and use it within a bounded window. Do not leave it at room temperature.
Freeze-thaw cycles
Each freeze-thaw cycle stresses the peptide chain. Split a solution into single-use portions so you thaw only what you need.
Light exposure
Light degrades some peptides. Keep vials in the dark, and label them so you do not leave one out to identify it.
Shelf life
Write the reconstitution date on every vial. A peptide with no recorded age is a peptide you cannot trust.
